The lead girls of the REY group organized community engagement events for International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, each having themes related to Gender Equality and reducing violence within the community. There were also many cultural performances, lead by the girls as well. More than 200 people from the community attended each event.
The lead girls group took part in weekly workshops, facilitated by experienced and knowledgeable individuals in the community. The girls explored gender roles, stereotypes, intergenerational conflict, family law, etc. This was a great experience for the girls to enhance their knowledge and skills.
The girls utilized their skills to spread their knowledge within the community by conducting a series of community education workshops, regarding issues of gender analysis, women’s rights, intergenerational conflicts and conflict resolution.
