Are You a Member of SAWRO?

SAWRO belongs to the community women who are building the organization and using its services.  All women in the community are invited to become members of SAWRO and to have a say in how their organization operates.

 What can SAWRO members do?

  • elect officers and board members
  • vote on all SAWRO business at monthly member meetings
  • vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM)

 Who can be a member of SAWRO?

  • Immigrant women living in the Teesdale/Crescent Town neighborhood and the adjacent neighborhoods who are active in the organization
  • women active in the work of SAWRO as volunteers, peer workers or program/campaign participants

 SAWRO keeps a list of active members.  The Nominating and Bylaws Committee has been calling all SAWRO contacts to update the membership list in preparation for the AGM in April.  Committee members are talking to community women about their membership in SAWRO.

 If you would like to be a member of SAWRO or if you would like to update your membership information, please give your name and phone number to the Nominating and Bylaws Committee.  Someone from the committee will call you about membership in SAWRO.

SAWRO’s Website in 2011

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people.  This blog was viewed about 22,000 times in 2011.  If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 8 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
